Even though the CS2 suite is older software, it is still a great tool for doing the basics! Adobe decided to give us all a late Christmas present: You can now download the entire CS2 suite for FREE. Yes free!
Handy for photographers
I hardly ever use true picture editing tools (but RAW workflow software instead). But at times this kind of tool can be VERY handy. Now, everyone has opportunity to get a free version of Photoshop CS2 (and all of the other CS2 products!)
Even if you’re not a user of picture editing software, learning the basics of Photoshop can come in very handy at times. I would certainly promote this now free software to any serious photographer (if you do not own a version already).
Where to get it and where to run it
You can download all version (plus keys) HERE. There are both Windows and Mac versions available for most titles.
Mac users beware: This is pre-x86 software, so it runs on Power PC CPUs only, so you need either an older mac with such a CPU, or you need to run it from Mac OS X v.10.2.8 – v.10.3.8 (or use Rosetta) to get it working.
For Windows users: The software needs at least Windows 2000 / Windows XP with at least a Pentium III CPU. So you should all be fine I guess 😉
One final thing: You need to have or create an Adobe account in order to use the software. A small price to pay 🙂
There is no other photo editing software that is as good as Adobe Photoshop. I employ it frequently on family photos and the photos i take when i am travelling abroad. Adobe Photoshop has so many great features.
Haha Pamelina, yes Photoshop does a lot of things very well. Still, it isn’t optimized to run through large sets of images taken from a camera. That is where Lightroom (and many other!) shine. Combine those tools and you have an awesome working set 🙂
